The Seppelt family has been making wine for more than 150 years and Peter Seppelt is the fifth generation to continue the winemaking tradition. Visit their estate and cellar door.
Set in rolling hills, the vineyards all have a north-easterly aspect giving maximum exposure to the sunlight. Conditions are ideal for the production of high quality wines. Old stone buildings on the Estate have been restored and new ones added to make the property historically authentic.
The wine grapes are picked from our property and made into wine using traditional methods. The vineyards are planted at an altitude of 450 metres and are cool by comparison to most of South Australia's vineyards.
Our wine list starts with a good sparkling wine, Rozies Giggle Juice (white Pinot Noir) followed by a beautiful dry Riesling, unwooded Chardonnay, Spatlese Riesling (for sweet tooth), Cabernet Rose, Sparkling Shiraz, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. A fortified Ratafia (from Riesling pressings) and Vintage Port to finish.
Enjoy these wines while dining in the Grand Cru Wood Oven Restaurant. The gourmet pizzas are great. The restaurant is open Friday and Saturday evenings and for Saturday and Sunday lunch, bookings essential. Group bookings available by appointment....
